From your account to your first reset: what to do, where to go and what everything means. Stuck on something? The FAQ has the answers players ask for most.
- Register on the website: a login of 3 to 10 letters and digits, your e-mail, a password of 8 to 16 characters and a security code of 6 to 10 digits. It's free.
- One account holds all your characters. The game uses the same login and password as the website: type them exactly as you registered them, upper and lower case included.
- The security code is not your password. The game asks for it when you delete a character or leave a guild. Write it down somewhere safe: the team will never ask for it.
- Sign in and open Download: the download is there for players with an account. You need Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit).
- Run VEYLMU Setup (no administrator rights needed). Windows may say "Windows protected your PC": the setup isn't signed with a publisher certificate yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. More about it.
- The VEYLMU Launcher then downloads the game (over 1 GB) and keeps it up to date by itself. Always start the game with its PLAY button: Main.exe on its own only opens the launcher.
- Window too big or too small? Close the game and open Settings in the launcher: under General you pick windowed mode, the resolution and the interface size. Problems with the setup or the launcher: Trouble launching?
Press PLAY, choose the server and log in with your account. Then create a character: a class and a name.

Not sure? The Dark Knight is the easiest start: tough, and he fights up close. The Dark Wizard clears groups from a distance but breaks easily. The Elf shoots from afar and strengthens her party; her arrows run out, so carry more. Every class can reach the top: pick the one you want to look at for hours.
The Summoner, Rage Fighter, Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord unlock for your whole account. Until the Rage Fighter is unlocked, the game still lets you click it but refuses to create it, with a message that the name is wrong: the name is fine, the class is locked.
- When you enter the world for the first time, the chat welcomes you and tells you where your town's first hunting ground is.
- Your starter kit is already in your bag: 50 Medium Healing Potions, 30 Medium Mana Potions and 5 Town Portal Scrolls. The first character of your account also gets 100,000 Zen.
- New characters get +50% EXP until their first reset while you play yourself (not with the MU Helper or offline leveling). The Happy Hours, every day at 14:00 and 20:00 server time (Helsinki), add their bonus on top.
- Summoners start without a weapon: Rhea in Elvenland sells a Mystery Stick. Elves use one arrow per shot: Potion Girl Amy in Noria sells more.
- The Elf Soldiers in the towns give you a damage and defense buff for an hour, up to level 150, and small hunting quests for EXP.
Where to level first
| Level | Where | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| 1-15 | Lorencia, Spider Meadow (195, 155) | More Budge Dragons and Spiders, north-east of town. |
| 1-15 | Lorencia, Dragon Nest (212, 193) | Budge Dragons and Spiders east of town. A quick start before the Lich Field. |
| 1-30 | Lorencia, Lich Field (163, 215) | Liches and Skeleton Warriors south of town. Your first Jewels of Chaos can drop here. |
| 1-12 | Noria, Goblin Camp (220, 75) | Goblins and Chain Scorpions north-east of town: the first steps of a new Elf. |
| 8-25 | Noria, Hunter's Clearing (111, 93) | Beetle Monsters and Hunters west of the town, all in one clearing. |
| 1-15 | Elvenland, Rabbit Glade (49, 145) | Strange Rabbits and a few Polluted Butterflies north of town: the first steps of a new Summoner. |
| 30-55 | Devias, Yeti Pass (117, 194) | Elite Yetis and Ice Queens on the southern snowfield. Ice Queens are level 52: Jewels of Bless can drop. |
| 30-70 | Elvenland, Grizzly Wood (176, 82) | Grizzlies and Totem Golems. Monsters of level 40 and up can drop Jewels of Bless. |
The numbers are map coordinates: the game shows yours at the top left, next to the map name. The hunting grounds for every level after these are in the spot guide.
Every level gives 5 points (7 for the Magic Gladiator, Dark Lord and Rage Fighter). Spend them in the character window (C) or in the chat: /add str 100 (or agi, vit, ene, cmd).
- Strength: physical damage, and most weapons and armor need it.
- Agility: defense and attack speed, and the damage of an Elf's bow.
- Vitality: health. The Rage Fighter's fists hit harder with it too.
- Energy: mana, the spell damage of the Dark Wizard, Magic Gladiator and Summoner, and the strength of the Elf's buffs. The Dark Lord's damage grows with it too.
- Command (Dark Lord only): needed for his Dark Raven and Dark Horse, and it strengthens his party buff.
Placed them wrong? /resetstats gives every point back for 5,000,000 Zen, or use the stat reset on your account page for 300 WCoin P (or 300 WCoin C). A reset clears your stats too and gives all your reset points back to spend again.
- Potions: in Lorencia, Lumen the Barmaid in the bar (inside the safe zone) and Potion Girl Amy; in Noria, Elf Lala and Amy; in Elvenland, Silvia; in Devias, Izabel the Wizard. Potions stack up to 255, and the shops sell stacks of 20 too.
- A Town Portal Scroll takes you back to town at once: the way out when the potions run low.
- Press
Mfor the move list: pick a place and you are there, for a little Zen (2,000 for a town, up to 18,000 for the far lands). Most places need a level: Lorencia, Noria and Elvenland from 10, Devias from 20 (the Magic Gladiator, Dark Lord and Rage Fighter need about a third less). In the chat,/move Deviasdoes the same. - If you die, you wake up in town and lose a little of the Zen in your bag (1 to 4%). Zen in the vault (Baz the Vault Keeper, in the towns) is safe.
- The MU Helper hunts and drinks potions for you. Its buttons are at the top left, next to the map name: the cog opens its settings (also
Z), the green button starts it, the red one stops it. - It costs Zen: 100 Zen per level (master levels count too) every 5 minutes, so 10,000 at level 100, and more after every 200 minutes in one go.
- While it runs, your kills drop no jewels but Jewels of Chaos and Bless, no Box of Kundun, no Box of Luck and no skill orbs or scrolls, and only a quarter of the Zen; the newcomer bonus pauses. Fine for levels; for jewels and Zen, play yourself.
/offlevelkeeps your character hunting on the server after the game closes, with your MU Helper settings and its fee, until you log in again, the Zen runs out or the character dies. Start the MU Helper first, and save its settings once (Save Setting in its window), or/offlevelrefuses.
- A party holds up to 5 players. Every member in sight on the same map gets experience from every kill; with similar levels that is about a full kill each, plus 5% for each extra member.
- Zen you pick up is shared with the party, so your bag gets less than the ground showed: nothing is lost, the rest went to your friends.
- The higher grounds marked Party recommended in the spot guide are made for three or more. Find a party in #looking-for-party on our Discord.
Jewels are rare on VEYLMU, and they are what makes gear strong. To use one, drag it onto an item in your inventory.
- Jewel of Bless: +1 level, up to +6. It always works.
- Jewel of Soul: +1 level, up to +9: 40%, 50% with Luck. A failure on +7 or +8 sets the item back to +0, below that one level down.
- Jewel of Life: adds +4 to an item's extra option, up to +16: 40%. A failure sets the option back to +4.
- Jewel of Chaos: the Chaos Machine's jewel, and part of the reset cost from reset 11.
- Merchants pay a lot for Soul and Life. Bless and Chaos can't be sold to merchants, only traded between players.
The Chaos Machine
- The Chaos Goblin in Noria runs the Chaos Machine: items +10 to +15, Chaos weapons, wings and event tickets. Put the items in and the window shows the real success rate and the Zen.
- Items +10 to +15: 55, 50, 45, 40, 35 and 30% for a normal item, 10 more with Luck, a little less for excellent, ancient and socket items. A failed +10, +11 or +12 keeps the item (the jewels and the Zen are gone); a failed +13, +14 or +15 destroys it.
Still lost? The FAQ, the guide for resets and badges and our Discord are there for you. And please read the rules. Good hunting!
